The polar bear however will charge forward and meet the wave if you sent an arrow in first which makes them fantastic meat shields. In general all pets will move to, and attack whatever monster you are attacking, or any monster attacking them, but most pets we noticed didn't like being very far away from you and wasted a lot of time running to you (and leading mobs with them). Polar bears seemed to have both a more aggressive AI and the good move speed to use it, AND be tankier to last longer. It was hard to gather data on this but it seems like the Polar bear pet is VASTLY superior to all other pets. Very useful for pumping damage into bosses or feeling badass in a crowd, though my personal favorite crowd buster is the imploding crossbow. And second, the Autocrossbow loads up with 20 arrows you can fire machine-gun fast by holding down the button. Each time the beam lands on an enemy it will score a hit, leaving the beam on an an enemy will only hit it once, but sweeping the beam back and forth will hit each time a new sweep hits the monster this is important for bosses of course. Lots of bows are actually slightly strategically unique, but there were two notable differences on the ranged weapons I'll point out: The corrupted beacon only has 2 shots, but you can hold each shot on for about 2 seconds and sweep the beam around the screen to hit just about everything. As a note, activated or charged cards DO NOT carry over from stage to stage, so just go ahead and unleash on the bosses. There is no time limit on the bow, once activated it will be your next 3 or 4 shots, whenever you decide to save them for. Ranged weapons do vary quite a bit MOST bows will give you 3 or 4 special shots once charged up and do double the damage of a normal arrow. which is much easier to do in multiplayer than single. I like to get my katana ready and then live off my Bow for as long as possible, enjoying the unlimited speed boost. The really over-powered thing about it, is that as soon as the card is charged and ready (but BEFORE you swing it for the first time and start it's 15 second timer) you STILL GET the movement speed buff. BUT it's also the only weapon I saw that has a PASSIVE effect on you, in that your base movement speed is just about doubled, and this is HUGE because you can easily walk around the monsters at that speed. It's AMAZING for mobility and escaping huge crowds without damage, but not so good for bosses which you can't charge through. That said there were two Stand-out weapon better than the rest: The Grave bane gives you a BIG 360° swing with yourself as the center which is big for dealing with getting mobbed, and the Master's Katana does two AMAZING things: First off, when activated it's attack is a fast, invulnerable dash through monsters. (Skins are of course purely cosmetic too) - Weapons can have different Areas of Effect, swing speed and particle effects but All weapons will last for 15 seconds once activated and all give you a damage boost of 150% over your normal, basic uncharged sword swing. All armors are identical in function regardless of "rarity" they are basically just a second Skin. The game does get easier in a way with more players extra monsters don't spawn or get harder, so the more people you have, the more DPS you have and the more tanks there are for splitting up the crowds.Ģ) 90% of the equipment options are only cosmetically different but there are a few key differences: The dodge button is mostly a useless trap, and on a half-price day two players (me and my brother) burned through 184 chips in 1.5 hours of play. My Dave and Busters normally charges 8 chips for a continue ($1.60 at the worst chip price) so definitely go on half-priced days and buy those chips in bulk. It is a "quarter muncher." it's build to force you take damage as you go, you can do better than some one not playing carefully, but in the end you're going to need 2-4 continues to beat a stage. I wont describe the basic gameplay functions here you can hit up youtube for that pretty easy and then this post won't be quite as huge. I went to my local Dave & Busters on half-price day and dropped about $50 into the new Arcade version of this game so let me tell you all about it!
